Dr. Michaelson’s practice includes all facets of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He performs a wide range of surgical procedures, with a focus on rhinology and sinus procedures as well as a multitude of facial plastic surgeries, including rhytidectomy, brow lifting procedures, eyelid surgery, ear pinning as well as BOTOX and filler procedures.
Dr. Michaelson serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Ohio Air Guard as a Flight Surgeon in the 178th Tactical Fighter Wing, and had previously served for the past 10 years at Wright Patterson Medical Center as Chief of Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Michaelson is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor with Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. He has authored over a dozen papers published in peer reviewed journals, authored multiple book chapters, has chaired seminars at international meetings, and has had the honor of appearing on prime-time national news broadcasts to discuss some of his ground breaking work on sleep disorders. Recently he has been asked to appear on multiple WDTN newscasts as an expert in popular medical topics and ENT issues that affect those in the Miami Valley.
Dr. Michaelson received his undergraduate degree from the United States Air Force Academy, and then served as a physicist before returning to medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland where he graduated with the Outstanding Medical Student Award. He completed his residency in San Antonio, Texas and then was assigned to Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He is delighted to now join Devore Katz Michaelson ENT as a full-time clinician and surgeon.
He is staff at Greater Dayton Medical Center, Kettering Health Network, Children’s Medical Center, Grandview, Southview and Soin Hospitals as well as West Chester Hospital. He is welcoming any and all pediatric and adult ENT patients.
